Jack's is a mostly locals hangout with a convenient mid- island location. It's in an arts enclave known as Tillett Gardens and there are several shops, art galleries, and craft shops there. They frequently have live music there and Steve Danesi, the owner, is a big supporter of the arts, and local musicians. The food is quite good !!

Jack's is a mostly locals hangout with a convenient mid- island location. It's located in an arts enclave known as Tillett Gardens and there are several shops, art galleries, and craft shops there. They try to have live music at least 2 nights a week.

This is mostly a locals crowd and it's comfortable for us since we usually know a good sampling of them. Tillett Gardens is located mid-island, so most of the island is no more than a 15minute drive away!! |

Hull Bay Hideaway is a mostly Northsider's hangout. Locals from the East End don't often find their way here, because of the drive home, Which can be harrowing (after a few drinks) ! The food is very good, and the staff is great ! The setting is not too shabby either - right on Hull Bay Beach ! Add good live local music, and the stage is set for a magical evening !!

This is always a fun gig and yes-the fun factor does count! The crowd is mostly "northsiders' since this is right in their backyard so to speak. There's plenty of room for dancing. the staff is friendly and the food is good!! The band feels comfortable here since most of them live on the northside and know many of the folks in the crowd!! |

The Becca Darling Band is back at Hull Bay Hideaway tonight -come join us !
I want to talk about the open mike night at the Sun Dog Cafe. There were several fine performers and an appreciative crowd. When an open mike night is good – it’s got that certain combination of spontaneity and form that only be found at such a venue. I was at two such events this week- and each one was excellent in it’s own way.

| Other Info | This is one of those "outdoor " gigs where we have no protection from the elements! We set up just off the Promenade and across from Hubbly Bubbly! Sometimes other musicians stop by and "sit in", and I usually find that heartening. |

Last Saturday night (the 17th), We played at Hull Bay before an enthusiastic crowd of mostly “northsiders”. There was a buzz and electricity in the place. Ras Abijah played quite well – especially considering the fact that many of the tunes he had heard only once or twice before! I began to recognize some of the faces which signifies we are in fact “building a fan base” We tried out some new “dance tunes”, and they were well received – folks actually danced!!

 Well, we’re back at Hull Bay Hideaway! There is usually a good crowd here and they appreciate the music, so it makes for a nice ambiance. This time we have Ras Abijah on guitar (subbing for Morgan). We hit at 7pm!
